Recipe to make Makhane Ki Kheer:

Ingredients for making Makhane Ki Kheer:
1.      1 liter full cream milk.
2.      30-40 pieces of makhana, each cut into 2 pieces.
3.      ¾ cup sugar.
4.      4-5 threads of saffron (Kesar).
5.      ¼ teaspoon cardamom powder.
6.      4 almonds and 4 pistachios thinly sliced or chopped.
7.      Resins (Kishmish).

How to make Makhane Ki Kheer:

1.      Roast Makhana in a frying pan with 1 teaspoon of ghee.
2.      Boil milk and keep stirring.
3.      Let it boil for 15 minutes.
4.      Add makhana to boiling milk. They will shrink immediately when added to milk.
5.      Boil for another 8 minutes.
6.      Add sugar and saffron (Kesar).
7.      Boil for another 5 minutes.
8.      Add cardamom powder.
9.      Garnish with dry fruits and resins (kishmish).
10.  Serve steaming hot or chilled, as desired.
