Ingredients for Moong ki Daal Ka Halwa to serve 4 adults:
1.      1 cup moong ki daal ka mogar.
2.      ¾ cup sugar.
3.      ¾ cup each of milk and water mixed together.
4.      ¾ cup ghee.
5.      4-5 threads of saffron (Kesar).
6.      ¼ teaspoon cardamom powder.
7.      4 almonds and 4 pistachios thinly sliced or chopped.
8.      Raisins (Kishmish).
How to make Moong ki Daal ka Halwa:
1.      Soak moong daal mogar for 3 hours.
2.      Drain all the water and grind it fine in a blender.
3.      Heat ghee in a non-stick frying pan.
4.      Add ground daal to it.
5.      Roast till the daal becomes completely brown and ghee separates out to the edges.
6.      If required, add more ghee. This recipe is written with minimum quantity of ghee required.
7.      Add milk-water mixture to roasted daal.
8.      Cook uncovered until the grain is soft.
9.      Add sugar, cardamom and saffron.
10.  Stir for 3-4 minutes until sugar mixes well with daal.
11.  The consistency should be like halwa.
12.  Decorate with dry fruits and serve hot.
